In a significant step towards women empowerment and youth development, the Edusei Foundation, completed the renovation of two girls’ dormitories and two bathrooms of Kumasi Academy Senior High School.

The project, which was commissioned on 8th May, 2023, was spearheaded by renowned pharmacist, Adwoa Bawuah-Edusei and American-trained Nurse, Ama Bawuah-Edusei, who are both board members of Edusie Foundation.

“The project was aimed at addressing critical infrastructural needs and improve upon the overall learning environment for the female students at the school,” the Foundation said.

Consequently, the two dormitories received a comprehensive makeover, including repairs to roofs, walls, flooring and other installments to foster a more comfortable and conducive space for female students at the school.

Addressing Water Challenges

Recognizing the water scarcity challenges faced by the school, the Foundation went beyond structural improvements to drill a borehole on the school premises; providing a reliable and sustainable source of potable water for students.

This vital resource was then linked to strategically placed reservoirs, thereby, ensuring consistent water supply and storage throughout the dormitories and bathrooms.

The gesture by Edusei Foundation swiftly improved the school's ability to maintain proper hygiene standards and sanitation practices.

Edusei Foundation's commitment to women empowerment and youth development is evident in this impactful project by providing a safe, healthy and well-equipped learning environment.

Improved living conditions and access to potable water not only enhance their physical well-being but also create an atmosphere conducive to academic success and personal growth.

The renovation which was completed on 20th July, 2023, addressed critical needs that ensured significant improvement of hygienic and sanitary conditions on campus.

The upgraded bathroom featured new fixtures, improved ventilation, and enhanced accessibility, promoting better hygiene practices and contributing to the overall well-being of the girls.

Support for Kumasi Children’s Home

In a separate act of generosity, Edusei Foundation, visited Kumasi Children’s Home on 5th June, 2023 – a haven for underprivileged children.

During their visit, they provided much-needed food supplies and toiletries, ensuring the children's basic needs were met and boosted the morale of staff.

Dormitories at the orphanage also saw a facelift and floors fully tiled.

This act of kindness by Edusei Foundation whose philanthropic efforts have received global recognition offered not only essential resources but also a message of hope and support, demonstrating the Foundation's commitment to the well-being of vulnerable youth.
