Edusei Foundation In Collaboration With Yeguaa Foundation Donates To The Serwaa Ampem Foundation For


Since its discovery and recognition, AIDS has caused million deaths worldwide. HIV/AIDS is considered as a pandemic and has had a great impact on society, both as an illness and as a source of discrimination. The disease also has significant economic impacts and has become subject to many controversies involving religion. It has attracted international medical and political attention as well as large-scale funding.On the 27th day of September 2015, Edusei and Yeguaa Foundations who have track records of supporting youth development and women empowerment as well as the aged and physically challenged in Ghana and the diaspora presented a cheque of Forty Thousand Ghana Cedis (Gh ₵ 40,000) to the Serwaa Ampem Foundation for Children during the Akwasidae festival organized by the Asantehene (King of Asante) Otumfuo Osei Tutu II at the Manhyia Palace in Kumasi.The Serwaa Ampem Foundation for Children (SAFC), a non-governmental organisation was established to support children infected with, and affected by HIV/AIDS, in response to the high levels of discrimination and stigmatisation that these children faced. Edusei and Yeguaa Foundations are collaborating to assist these children reach their God given potential and overcome the challenges of their being affected or infected with HIV Aids. Given that Yeguaa Foundation primarily focuses on helping underprivileged women, the aged and physically challenged people, and that Edusei Foundation focuses on empowering the youth towards reaching their full potential in the future, this collaboration perfectly reflects the synergistic relationship of both foundations and embodies their missions, which include providing aid to such groups.The Edusei Foundation was formed by Dr. Kwame Bawuah Edusei, a US based medical practitioner, philanthropist and former diplomat who has committed his life as a private citizen to champion the cause of the underprivileged especially the youth and women in society. Yeguaa Foundation is established in memory of Nana Adwoa Yeguaa the mother of Joana, Martina, Kwabena and Kwame Edusei. Nana Yeguaa spent all her life helping people from all walks of life and was also God fearing. Edusei and Yeguaa Foundations have been supporting and assisting various institutions to promote good health, education and other developmental issues.
